André-Malraux Park
At twenty-five hectares, André-Malraux Park is one of the largest in the Paris suburbs. Lawns, a lake, waterfalls, a play area and a rose garden: it offers every setting for a green date. Meet at the entrance to the Japanese garden, walk around the lake, then pick a bench to finish the conversation in the shade of a plane tree.
Seine banks and Blue Walkway
Between Nanterre and Rueil, the Seine banks have been turned into a Blue Walkway: a cycle path and benches facing the Île de la Jatte and Mont-Valérien. Chemin-de-l’Île Park, an eco-district that has become a wildlife refuge, is a popular Sunday destination for people from Nanterre. You can come by bike, on foot or by scooter from Nanterre-Préfecture station.
Pierre-Lagravère and leisure base
To the north, the Pierre-Lagravère departmental park runs along the Seine as far as Villeneuve-la-Garenne. A little further, the Val-de-Seine leisure base offers rowing, sailing and an open-air pool. On Lyad, people from Nanterre share their favourite routes; a chance to find someone to hop on a bike with on a Sunday morning.
